Due to recent ROBLOX updates requiring an age check to play some games, all FLC games will be going private today.

This means you won't be able to play FLC games — such as FLC's Basics Classic — for the foreseeable future. We understand this is going to cause a lot of disruption and disappointment, but it's the only thing we can do right now with the current situation involving age checks and other controversial updates. However, FLC will post occasional gameplay videos — along with making more Scratch games — to make up for this. We are really sorry about this.

New systems to detect and remove potentially inappropriate comments

FLC is trialling a new comment moderation system — powered by Super. 

It scans newly-posted comments and checks against FLC's list of banned words and phrases to automatically do two things at the same time: Delete the comment to stop others from seeing it, and Notify the author of the comment about what's happened and why.

Since it's still an experiment, innocent comments may be flagged by the tool. Don't worry — FLC will be monitoring the system and can easily undo any mistakes it makes during its trial run.

The initial trial run will take place from 21 July 2026 to 31 August 2026 to see how well it works. During this time, the system may flag innocent comments in error, and FLC will attempt to revert these mistakes if they happen. After the trial run, FLC will either fully implement it or conduct a 2nd trial run, depending on the results of the first run.

Note: if your comment is accidentally flagged and FLC doesn't notice within 24 hours, please attempt to post the comment again, maybe altering the wording slightly to see if it gets flagged again or not. However, FLC will be checking comments more often during this run, so the chances of this happening are slim.

Planning day! Get FLC HQ looking amazing for the birthday party since there'll be limited-to-no time tomorrow. Get signs printed and stuck, mess tidied up, and the garden ready for attendees. Don't forget about the core of the party – the PowerPoint presentation!

Spooky day! (although I feel like the ghosts are already here.) No idea what's happening between the morning and trick-or-treating. And when it's time for trick-or-treating, set up that live stream and collect my chocolate and sweets.

Quitting ROBLOX information

Here's the info you've been wanting for ages. Basically, I'll be pulling the plug as soon as the new update comes out and I can't use the old UI no more. I might make emergency updates to popular games if people report them. A farewell live stream MIGHT be held, depending on when. Also, I've decided to remove ROBLOX from my birthday party due to lawsuits and investigations regarding safety concerns. Minecraft and Scratch rock!

Alright, I think that's i- oh... not again! I've missed ANOTHER thing!

It's only quick, though. The "surprise" that I've been hyping up for a while? In my next few videos, I'm going to be putting small clues in on what it could be. Yellow symbolises the warm glow of fluorescent lights. White shows that even cool-white bulbs are welcome to the Collection. Red shows the partnership with LCF92 (friend).

What are the small changes?

Headings and sub-headings have been made easier to read. However, these changes won't last long as FLC26 will change everything. Think of it as a temporary pre-FLC26 tweak.

*FLC plans to slowly leave the ROBLOX platform in the upcoming months.

FLC's Basics Classic is now...

FULLY OUT!

That's right. The game we've been waiting for is finally HERE!. Here's what made it possible:

• Actually Working CFL System: You can now collect all 7 CFLs. Once you've done that, you head outside to win.

• Winning Screen: Brand new and slightly deceptive (unless you read it all).

• How you win: We've changed how you win. In the planned version, you would hand the CFLs to FLC. A simple script would've been used to clear all CFLs from your inventory and enable a winning screen. In the final version, you head outside (with FLC chasing you faster) to trigger the winning screen.

• The CFL System: Uses a variable to track your CFL count and update the on-screen UI accordingly. Once the value reaches 7, the UI turns green and FLC starts to go faster. The winning screen can then be triggered. Don't attempt to get the counter to 8 or more though...

• Your Help: Support from fans, friends and family have made FLC's Basics full release possible. I cannot thank you enough.

• A bit of AI magic: ChatGPT has helped with some tasks, like scripting assistance.

FLC26 is our biggest project yet, focusing on the major and minor details and making them even better. From new logos to new experiences, it's truly a game-changer for FLC.

We're doing more to save fluorescent lights—but we can't do it alone

LED bulbs are slowly taking over fluorescent lights. People are recklessly ripping out precious fluorescent fixtures and installing cheap LED variants. And our mission isn't to tell people to keep their fluorescent lights, but to donate them. 

The FLC will soon start taking donations. Donate your old fluorescent light bulbs, fixtures and accessories (starters, ballasts etc.) and help keep the world of fluorescent shining bright for years to come. 

If you're still not convinced on donating, this is what you need to know:

By 2050, we predict that fluorescent lighting would have disappeared without the FLC (and other fellow collectors) there to save them. But thanks to us collectors, we're making sure that doesn't happen.

We've seen countless videos of people recklessly smashing fluorescent lights for fun, unaware that they’re releasing toxic mercury into the air. Some people do it in a dumpster, and even some on their HEAD!

It's hard to give one exact number because it varies by market, but in many developed regions fluorescent lighting has fallen by around 80% or more since 2000 as LEDs have taken over most new installations. That's a huge number, and we're aiming to preserve as much of it as possible.

Approx. 37 shops near FLC HQ have changed their fluorescent light fittings to LED between 2010 and now. Preservation is FREE, near those shops and easy! And it's called the FLC.

When you use FLC services, you might've noticed the Twitter-style "X" replaced with a new logo. That's part of our big rebranding. And our new quote is:

1. It's a hotel! Lexland has a bunk bed for sleepovers. Fancy that!

2. Chillstreams happen right outside of FLC HQ. It's really that simple!

3. It's the heart of the Collection. A big bucket full of lamps, safely preserved. For even more protection, the box is lined with bubble wrap.

4. We have a public printer! If you need something printing, inform staff, and they'll help you use our printer to print whatever you need to. Printing confidential documents? Ask our staff to let you print in another room, with no peeking eyes.

5. Cubey-Approved videos! We occasionally hold events where people can watch Cubey-Approved Videos (a collection of family-friendly videos). Check the events board for more info!

Also, we're doing a second demo of FLC's Basics Classic Remastered! We don't have the exact date yet, but we guarantee the demo to be by 15 December, which is when game development is paused for the rest of the year while we take a break.

Happy Halloween to all! We've been trick-or-treating and got plenty of treats.

Imagine you're having a peaceful day when suddenly 50 people of all ages (mostly kids) come walking past your house. If you forgot that it's Halloween, what would YOU do?

You might feel a bit confused, scared or puzzled. Don't worry, we don't play tricks - we simply ask for your treats. We walk around a housing estate (same one each year!) for an hour or two to do our business. That is, grabbing treats. Of course, only one per person unless we are allowed to get more!

This new theme improves the FLC experience and adds a touch of modern-ness (is that a word?).

This is a preview of 1st generation standard article text. It was designed to be easy to read in large amounts and had a compact design to use less web space.

This is the 2nd generation standard article text, which is now even easier to read. Take a look at Article 109 for more info! Funfact: When a new generation of standard article text comes out (or any other type of text), ALL articles are updated at the same time!

Titles are nice and big with a catchy extra-bold look to grab your attention.

Headings sort cluttered parts of the site into different sections. They're easy to recognise due to their unique size. They've been updated recently to be easier to read.

Subheadings aren't used often, but when they are, they're either for making standard text look a tad larger, or it can be used for sub-sections. They've also been updated to be easier to read.

Finally, here's Ion! While this may look cool, I cancelled it because it didn't get any use. Bit of a shame...

Ah, back to the July theme. There's actually no official name for it, so it's often called the July theme! Anyways, you'll start to see Metro for stream cards and FLC's Basics (Testing map first, then Classic Remastered). Classic will not get Metro until 2025. Ion has been cancelled, originally planned to roll out from December 2024.

FRUIT WALKS!

With Fruit Walks, you can watch FLC and his team go for a long walk down various different pathways, as they pick various fruits they find. From crunchy apples to juicy cherries, we've got all of the fruit you could imagine! And, once we're done, we store it in plastic containers (sometimes with a little water) and feast on them over the next few days!

For the first time ever, an actually GOOD game is coming your way. FLC's Basics Plus will include loads of new exciting content, including a new character, Wind Blaster! Wind Blaster will do what his name does and blow wind down the halls! Very similar to Cloudy Copter from the Baldi's Basics series. 

How can I play?

As of writing this article, you can't play... yet. I'm using Unity to make this game, so hopefully I can get it on more platforms (although the original game is on Roblox, so it's basically on any device you have). When the game comes out, you just need to pay a small fee before you can play. Speaking of the fee,

Will it be free?

Sadly, good games cost money. That's why I'm charging a very small fee to get the game. However, once you've paid it, you can download it as many times as you want to all of your devices!

Are you using Steam?

For PC, I'm using Steam. This allows you to add the game to your Steam account so you can transfer it to all of your computers, and using their handy Borrow feature, let your friends play too!

However, for mobile, I'm using Apple App Store. With an iCloud.com account, you can get your purchase saved to it so that all your other iPhones, iPads and iPod touches can have the game on them for no additional cost. Pay once, play whenever, wherever!

And finally, when's it coming out?

Considering that I have school to deal with, and that I like to spend most of my weekends with friends, I cannot guarantee a certain date. However, I do bet that I will be about halfway done by Christmas 2024. Please be patient!

It's officially 2024! Happy New Year!!

FLC and the team have been working hard to set up the New Year Display. It's a first for this New Year's Day, so nobody expected it!

We set up it, switched it on and waited till 23:20.

Then, we turned off all the power, and at midnight, we turned on the Display! Thanks preheats for your cool display!

My cellar is now a room for ALL my lights.

"Eww, spiders" Well yes, there may be spiders, but the Collection is all you need to see. Best part? It came with shelves. Worst part? No sockets. And a rubbish LED. Here's our solutions:

1. Use like a million extension wires with a big one at the end.

2. Hire your local electrician to install a B22 fixture for a good CFL.

We've done number 1. Still working on 2...

And we're working on getting sockets down there.

Anyways, it's open for visitors. Just try and find the FLC HQ (it's quite hard because it looks normal on the outside) and then book your tickets. Be careful of the steep steps. There's also no handrail.

If you're lucky enough, you'll see Lex. Give him a hug. Go on.

FLC WATCH - THE NEW YOUTUBE?

FLC Watch is under development - and it's going to ruin YouTube, according to FLC.

FLC is working on a new video-watching service that will make YouTube a thing of the past. Say hello to FLC Watch, a site where you can upload your own videos and watch FLC videos directly. It's going to be available as a desktop app, website and mobile app.

Considering how bad YouTube has got with the ads, like 2 20 second unskippable ads before a video, and how repetitive the ads really are, FLC Watch might be the YouTube everyone's wanted.

Google, who owns YouTube, won't be very pleased when they see people leaving YouTube in favour of FLC Watch. They may even try to file a lawsuit against FLC Watch, but FLC's mercury-vapour powers will probably stop them.

It's honestly great to know that YouTube will be a thing of the past, and people won't have to deal with ads.

In fact, if everyone does move to FLC Watch, I might actually move entirely too. I just hope my lovely subscribers will follow me too.

One feature I like about FLC Watch is that you can migrate your Google account to a FLC account, and migrate your YouTube channel to a FLC Watch page.

So, get ready for a better YouTube  by next year!
